The Secretary Foundation Gitano and Proyecto Abraham (DROM), in collaboration with the City of San Javier will celebrate next Monday, April 8 the International Day of the Gypsy People with the reading of a manifest, the raising of the flag of the Roma people followed by the hymn "Gelem Gelem", which in Romany means "Anduve, I walked". The commemorative events that will begin at 4:30 p.m. on the esplanade Barnuevo, from Santiago de la Ribera, will include a floral offering and several activities that will invigorate the appointment open to all public.
The Councilor for Social Services, Estíbaliz Masegosa accompanied during the presentation to Samara Santiago, of the Foundation Gypsy Secretariat; María Dolores Andreu, social educator of the community development project that Proyecto Abraham carries out with the neighbors of Los Pozuelos, in Santiago de la Ribera, and Toni Díaz, municipal library coordinator, in the presentation of the event with which the history of the town is vindicated worldwide gypsy and homage is paid to the Roma victims of the Nazi regime in Germany.
