Jazz San Javier presents its image and advances part of the program of its XXII edition

The pianist Chick Corea, with his "My Spanish Heart" tour, bassist Ron Carter, world reference for double bass jazz musician, drummer Steve Gadd, who just got the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Album for his album called "Steve Gadd Band", and the Danish pianist Niels Lan Doky are some of the names that appear in the advancement of the program of the 22nd International Jazz Festival of San Javier presented this morning at the City Hall of San Javier by the mayor José Miguel Luengo and the director of the Festival, Alberto Grandchild. The XXI Jazz Festival of San Javier, which opens the declaration of National Tourist Interest and that will be held from June 28 to July 27, will host one of Chick's only three concerts Korea in Spain this summer along with those of Madrid and Barcelona, with a tour that takes the name of its legendary 1976 record "My Spanish Heart ", in which he already declared his admiration for Spanish music. Chick Corea will perform at Jazz San Javier on the 25th July accompanied by a macro band with guest artists like Jorge Pardo on sax, El Niño Josele on guitar and Luisito Quintero in percussion, among others. p>

The female presence in Jazz San Javier will also have the great revelation of New York soul jazz, the Kennedy Administration, a band led by the charismatic vocalist Kennedy whose style refers to the great stars of classic soul, in a first concert in Spain. p>

The young trumpeter and Catalan jazz singer, Andrea Motis, a of the Spanish artists with the greatest international projection, just released the documentary based on his brilliant career, "La Silent Trumpet ", directed by Ramón Tort, will visit first time Jazz San Javier accompanied by an old acquaintance and Prize of the Festival, the pianist Ignasi Terraza. The singer and pianist Tony Desare returns to Jazz San Javier in training Quartet and with the harmonicist Antonio Serrano as guest artist. The versatile Zenet will present his new album, "La Guapería", with versions of ancient Cuban boleros, accompanied by excellent musicians like Pepe Rivero on piano, Antonio Machado on trumpet, Öve Larson to the trombone, and Raúl Márquez to the violin, among others. The drummer and singer, Jamison Ross, excellent balladeer and one of the the most interesting young jazz musicians in the United States, also appears in the program preview released today in San Javier. p>

In the free outdoor concerts the presence was announced in the square of Spain, of San Javier of the Barcelonian Anna Luna, singer of jazz and popular Brazilian music that leads a band of six musicians with Jaume Vilaseca on piano. The Festival will be held sinceJune 28 to July 27 and will offer a total of 27 concerts spread over 16 nights, of which 13 will be hosted the Parque Almansa Auditorium, and three will take place outdoors in free concerts in La Manga del Mar Menor, Santiago de la Ribera and San Javier. The rest of the program will be announced within of two weeks coinciding with the sale of fertilizers and tickets. p>

The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo highlighted the fact to count, for the first time, with the Declaration of Tourist Interest National for the Jazz Festival of San Javier, whose organization, and management, he recalled, is one hundred percent municipal. He also remarked the fact that one more year the Festival goes out with three free concerts in San Javier, Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga of the Mar Menor. The Jazz Festival of San Javier was considered the second most outstanding cultural event of the Region of Murcia by the Observatory of Culture, in its report of 2018. p>
