The Local Police initiates a campaign of control and awareness on the microchip in pets

The Local Police of San Javier is carrying out a campaign information and control in pets that are in parks and public roads of the municipality to check that they have installed the obligatory microchip.
On the first day of this citizen awareness campaign, the agents controlled ten dogs of which three did not carry the microchip In those cases the agents are informing their carriers of the obligation by law to install the microchip in pets like dogs, cats and ferrets and they are given a term of 15 days to proceed with their placement.
The Local Police will periodically repeat this control campaign and citizen awareness to raise awareness among owners of pets the benefits of this measure, such as Quick location of the owner of a lost pet.
The microchip is a mechanism of numerical identification of the size of a grain of rice that is implanted under the skin of the pet being painless and innocuous. It is the only way to identify the animal since it is associated with a regional database, so in case of loss, the animal can be located upon reaching any clinical or protective. It also serves to hold the owners avoiding the voluntary abandonment of pets.
