The MOlino "El Maestre" will recover its original appearance with a water wheel in a second phase of its restoration

The mill "El Maestre", located in the Alto del Villar, will be displayed, as it was built at the end of the 19th century, the next Holy Week when it is expected to complete the works of recovery of the property cataloged as an Asset of Cultural Interest by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture that has invested 80,000 euros in its rehabilitation and restoration.
The mayor of San Javier José Miguel Luengo, the general director of Cultural Property Juan Antonio Lorca and the councilman of Culture, David Martinez visited today works of the first phase of the recovery of the mill, which follow good pace and to which a second phase will follow to complete the set as it was originally with a ferris wheel on the side that pushed by the blades extracted the water from the subsoil for irrigation.
The architect director of the works, José María López explained that the works carried out until now they have consisted in the sanitation of the "trunk" of the building, eliminated the additions that were not proper to it, for its reconstruction using only traditional techniques such as lime mortar or wood joinery. From now on will proceed to cover the building with the spire and provide it with the blades, all with national pine wood.
