San Javier exceeds by 10 points the regional average of glass recycling with 27 kilos per inhabitant per year

He San Javier municipality recycled 360 tons of glass in 2017, a 9 percent more than the previous year, which is a total of 27 kilos per inhabitant per year, standing well above the average regional and national level that is around 17 kilos per inhabitant, reported today the Ecovidrio area manager, Roberto Fuentes during the presentation of the summer campaign "Take note, recycle glass "in which the General Director of Medio participated Environment and Mar Menor, Antonio Luengo and the Councilor for the Environment of San Javier, Antonio Martínez.



The campaign, which promotes Ecovidrio with the support of the Ministry of Employment, Universities Company and Environment, is carried out in San Javier, and the rest of coastal municipalities such as San Pedro del Pinatar, Los Alcázares, Cartagena, Águilas and Mazarrón for the fourth consecutive year and directed especially at the hospitality sector that produces 30 percent of the glass that is generated in the summer season, explained Roberto Fuentes. In San Javier have been added so far a total of 170 catering establishments of Santiago de la Ribera and La Manga del Mar Menor, 65 more than last summer.
