It raises awareness among users about "The value of water" with a campaign to save on domestic consumption
06-06-2018
The mayor José Miguel Luengo today highlighted the capacity of the municipality of San Javier to save on water consumption "both in the agricultural sector, which was a pioneer in drip irrigation, as in domestic consumption ", during the presentation of the Hidrogea campaign, "The value of water", by its director Javier Ybarra, at an event held in the hall of plenary sessions of the City of San Javier with the assistance of school and various local collectives.
Miguel Ybarra, director of Hidrogea, highlighted "the responsibility" demonstrated by the inhabitants of San Javier where, in the period from 2008 to 2017 it has managed to save 18.6 percent of water, with a consumption average per inhabitant among the most adjusted at a national level. He also pointed out the hydraulic performance (water supplied to the network and registered water) which is 89 percent, being the most low in Spain, which means that only 11 percent is lost in leaks and leaks, far from the 30 percent that is lost to national level.
The new campaign, which promotes responsible consumption of domestic water, is motivated, not only because of the current dry season, but also because of the arrival of summer when the water consumption in San Javier goes from 187,000 m³ in winter to a summer supply of 350,000m3.
