The Corpus Christi procession celebrated yesterday in San Javier He found his way with a large number of altars as he marks the tradition in this procession that brings together the children of the first communion. One of the altars, made by the Friends Association of the Bethlehem, of San Javier, surprised with a carving of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, work of Antonio Carrión, and property of the Parish, which had not left the temple for decades.
It is a wood carving stucco, polychrome and with stews golden, which stands out for its beauty and its proportions with a height approximately 1.70 meters. Considered one of the jewels with which account the temple, the carving together of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of the church of Santo Domingo, Murcia, is one of the maximum exponents of the Salzillo school, after the Civil War.
The altar, located on one side of the temple, was made entirely by the association of nativity scenes of San Javier, which He counted on several donations of the pieces that composed him as the parish of San Pedro, in Espinardo and individuals, who sheltered the carving of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which in turn was a donation of Tomás Maestre Zapata and Carmen Ballester Fernández to the parish of San Francisco Javier.
