The Local Board of San Javier of the Spanish Association Against Cancer incorporates a regional service of psychosocial care

The Local Board of San Javier of the Spanish Association Against Cancer will offer from now on a service of attention Psychosocial, in its new headquarters in Calle Archena, 16 in San Javier with the aim of offering professional support in a personalized way during the process of the disease to patients and relatives.

A team consisting of a psychologist and a social worker will move to San Javier every Wednesday from 09h to 14h for attend this new service that has a regional character and covers to the municipalities of Torre Pacheco, Los Alcázares, San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar Interested persons should call regional telephone 968 28 45 88 from where an appointment will be made personal.

The new service, with which regional attention is completed in Different Local Boards of the Murcian geography, presented this morning at the headquarters of the Association in San Javier, in an act which counted on the presence of the San Javier Councilor for Health, Catalina Pérez, the president of the Board of San Javier, Antonio Cerezuela, the regional coordinator M.ª Ángeles Romero, the technicians who will work in San Javier, Víctor Romero and Toñi Galián, as well as representatives of different Boards of the region.

Víctor Romero, social worker, explained that with this serviceof San Javier, Catalina Perez said that "it is comforting to know that in San Javier We have a professional team that can accompany us and help in these cases". The mayor acknowledged the work of the Local Board and thanked its president Antonio Cerezuela for his work throughout the year with different awareness campaigns, their effort to raise funds with initiatives such as the Solidarity Race that this year will celebrate its sixth edition and preventive actions as the campaign of detection of breast cancer that this year will be reconvened in the municipality, as confirmed by Antonio Cerezuela.
